David Tredinnick has written to Leicestershire Fire Authority seeking urgent clarification following unconfirmed reports that the body is planning a reduction in personnel at Hinckley Fire Station.

The Bosworth MP is extremely concerned by suggestions that the number of staff at Hinckley Fire Station will be reduced by eight.

David Tredinnick said, “I am alarmed by the reports of a potential loss of personnel at Hinckley’s Fire Station and I have asked the Fire Authority to clarify matters.

“Nothing matters more than the safety of local residents and any reduction in frontline staff at the Fire Station will raise questions in this respect so I urgently need to know the Fire Authority’s plans for the Hinckley area.”
